Andricus wiltzae n. sp.

Polythalamous galls formed in the buds of Quercus lobata, distinguished by the thickly compacted cluster of aborted leaves.

71. Q lobata. On Q dumosa also. Adults have been cut out in November and others issued and died before Feb 14 (San Bernardino Mts). Galls contained adults on Nov 22 and Jan 5 (Stanford).

This cynipid wasp induces leafy, terminal, polythalamous bud galls on valley oak.
