The Gall Midges (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Cecidomyiinae) From Allegheny County Pennsylvania

The larvae of Ametrodiplosis fulvescens Plakidas are found actively feeding in fuzzy, oval leaf galls on Eupatorium perfoliatum from July through August. This gall is described in Gagné (1989) page 137 as a "hemispherical leaf swelling" "about 5.0 mm in diameter".
