Gallformers ID Notes

A single very small globular gall densely covered in pink-orange hair, at the edge of a leaf of Quercus lobata, causing some minor bending of the leaf. Observed in Spring-Summer in California.

Two adults reared from these galls were sent to Dr. James Nicholls, and his preliminary result in June 2024 indicated that it was a sexual generation of Feron. However, further investigation is needed to identify the exact species.
