Hosts: Carya ovata, tomentosa, glabra

Gall (Figs. 178-180): Rare, so far known only from Eucarya section; a single-chambered blister of the nut husk, up to 5 mm wide and 4 mm high, with same color and texture as husk; larval chamber ovoid, each with a single larva.

Biological notes. — The full-grown larva cuts a straight, cylindrical exit passage to the exterior of the nut husk and falls to the ground where it over-winters.
